Take Precautions Against Accidents in the Darkroom!

Darkroom_Hazards.pdf

1) Follow the same set of safety guidelines as you would in Biology class. Visit the "Lab Safety" page for details!

2) Be familiar with how to operate all of your equipment, and know where it is placed within the darkroom.
Be especially mindful of machines which you can be cut or burned on.

3) Always practice safe lifting techniques to minimize back injury.

4) Never touch any light bulbs without wearing gloves.

5) Avoid over exposure to chemical fumes by limiting your time in the darkroom.

6) Familiarize yourself with the hazards of chemical exposure.

7) Always mop up spills immediately to avoid slipping and falling.

8) Have some kind of emergency eye wash on the premises, preferably in the darkroom.

9) Always wear protective eyewear (safety goggles), gloves, and a lab apron when in the darkroom.
